What is Consignment?

Consignment sales are a trade agreement in which one party (the consignor) provides goods to another party (the consignee) to sell. When the consignee sells the goods received by the consignor, the consignee then pays the consignor the predetermined sale amount.

How Does it work?

Consigning With Us

  • Designer Recycle Boutique reserves the right to refuse any items offered, with all transactions being confidential
  • We Accept Stock Monday to Friday 9:00am – 12:00pm & Saturday by appointment only
  • All items are accepted on a seasonal basis

Items We Accept For Sale

  • Designer Recycle Boutique welcomes all sizes
  • We Accept Clothing, Shoes, Handbags, Jewellery and Accessories
  • Clothing items must be in excellent condition and recently washed
    We will not accept items that have any stains, rips, tears or piling, have faded, shrunk or stretched
  • Shoes must be in excellent condition and recently cleaned
    We will not accept shoes that are dirty, scuffed or appear obviously worn
  • Handbags, Jewellery & Accessories must be in excellent condition and recently cleaned
    We will not accept items that have any stains, have tarnished, or appear obviously worn
  • Clothing is Limited to 5 garments p/p, per visit
    Costume jewellery is limited to 5 pieces
  • No limits on Shoes, Handbags, Gold / Silver Jewellery and Accessories
  • Items that are accepted with faults that pass unnoticed will be returned back to owner

Placement Period

  • Placement period of all items will be Three (3) Months
    Two (2) Months at full price & One (1) Month on sale upto half price
  • After 2 months, unsold item/s can be collected, otherwise reduced down on sale
  • Mark down price will be decided by the proprietor unless indicated by owner before 3rd month

Pricing Of Items

  • Items will be priced by the owner, however they will also be mutually acceptable
  • There will be no price increase or reduction to the owners disadvantage without the permission of the owner

Fees And Commissions

  • A once only initial upfront payment fee of $10.00 is required to set up account
  • Commission is split 60% to Designer Recycle Boutique and 40% to the Consignee
  • Any items that are on layby will be paid to the owner after the layby has been fully paid
  • Payment cycle is monthly, in the first 10 days, from previous months sales
  • Payments are made by direct debit into your bank account
  • Store credits are welcomed

Return Of Items

  • Owners can reclaim items any time after placement, provided they have not been sold or are subject to being on hold or on lay-by
  • Owners are responsible for reclaiming their unsold items after the three (3) month placement
  • Due to lack of storage: Items that have not been reclaimed after the three (3) month placement will be donated after 8 weeks, without further notice to the owner

Responsibility For Items

Every care is taken to ensure the safety of all items from theft or mishap, however the proprietor does not accept responsibility for items during the placement period.
